When our people act with kindness and purpose, the impact is felt beyond Pharmaxo – and it’s something we’re proud to carry into the year ahead.
One partnership that has become meaningful to our teams is the Ben Saunders Foundation (BSF), a charity supporting children and young adults undergoing cancer treatment. Founded in 2020 by Bath teenager Ben Saunders after his diagnosis with sarcoma, BSF provides respite breaks and wellbeing support for young people and their families. Ben sadly passed away at 18, but his family continues his vision, turning loss into hope for others.
Everyday actions that create real impact
From on-site coffee purchases to team-led fundraising events, in 2025 colleague-led initiatives helped the BSF continue offering vital support and relief for young people facing cancer.
“Our ESG approach has always been about doing what’s meaningful – supporting organisations that genuinely touch lives. What makes this partnership special is that it’s driven by our own people. Their kindness, energy, and willingness to get involved is what creates real impact in our community. We’re simply grateful to play a part in helping charities like BSF continue their amazing work.”
A personal connection that brings people together
BSF holds a particularly unique place within Pharmaxo because Ben’s aunt, Mo Wright (nee Saunders), works in the business.
“Ben did not want to be forgotten; he wanted to leave a legacy, so he started to build the Foundation in the final days of his life. He discussed all that he wanted to do with his Mum, Dad and brother Charlie, so they knew exactly how he wanted the Foundation to go forward.
Ben was athletic and full of life and the year he was diagnosed; he had run the Bath Half Marathon to raise money for Dorothy House in memory of his Nan (my Mum). He was a caring and remarkable young man which is why the Foundation is so very important to my family and Ben’s friends.
Having a personal link to the Ben Saunders Foundation, it means so much to see colleagues getting behind the cause. Their generosity helps young people facing cancer find moments of comfort when they need them most. I’m proud to work somewhere where people really care.”

Creating a culture of care and purpose
Head of People, Hanna Mansell, reflects on how these partnerships mirror the culture Pharmaxo wants to foster.
“What makes Pharmaxo special is the way our people naturally come together to support others. It isn’t forced or corporate – it comes from the heart. These partnerships reflect the kind of culture we want to nurture: caring, purposeful, and grounded in community impact.”
Pharmaxo also offers every employee one paid volunteering day each year to support a community cause they feel called to help.
Partnerships that matter to our people and our community
Alongside BSF, we also support Dorothy House Hospice Care (since 2017) – and we’ll keep backing employee-led community initiatives.
